Dietary Supplement
A dietary supplement is a product taken by mouth, that contains one or more “dietary ingredients”, and is intended to supplement the diet. Dietary supplements fall under the definition of “foods” provided in the federal Food, Drug and Cosmetics Act (FDC&A), and must be in compliance with many conventional food regulatory requirements as well as those that specifically apply to dietary supplements.
